IGS KOLEJ organised a tahlil and charity ceremony in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, with a theme of "Spirituality and Charity for the Holy Month," yesterday.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kolej IGS, Pg Hjh Fatimah Pg Setia Jaya Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin, presented the donation, which comprised cash amounting to $738, gift hampers and other household items, to six different families for the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.
The families were selected by the Community Development Department, Ministry of Youth Culture and Sports. The recipients are Hjh Dauyah Hj Bayau from Jerudong, Dk Sabariah Pg Hj Sariffudin from Kg Bakut Pengiran Siraja Muda B, Mustapaha Timbang from Kg Junjongan, Maria Yusuf from Kg Pengkalan Batu, Abdullah Sirat from Kg Lambak Kanan and Nurul Hadiah Abdullah from Kg Madang.
During the ceremony, a cheque worth $700 was also presented to Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim Hj Mohd Daud, Chief Executive Officer of Pengiran Muda Mahkota Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (Dana) by students of National Diploma in Business and Finance (NDBF08/02).
The money were raised through their business project "IGS Food Carnival and Trade Show 2010", organised in collaboration with Megavision Event Management in May this year.
